Ray Rieder, Executive Director

Position: Executive Director
Categories: Staff

“At its core, the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic is grounded in a simple but radical belief: that people deserve care and support because they are human—not because they can pay for it. This isn’t transactional work. It’s a community showing up for one another, offering steady light in moments of real darkness. I feel incredibly privileged to contribute to that.”

Ray Rieder became the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic’s Executive Director in 2026 after a stint serving as Interim Executive Director over 2025. Prior to her official role appointment, Ray had worked closely with the team developing their 2022-2025 strategic plan and 2025 financial plan.

Before assuming the Executive Director role at the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, Ray worked throughout the country and world as an independent consultant helping NGOs, and nonprofits develop strategic roadmaps to reach their impact goals. Before her consulting career, Ray had nearly 15 years of experience leading women’s rights and women’s health initiatives in the US and internationally, in Nepal, Jordan, Chile, and Tanzania. Her hands-on leadership experience continues to shape her practical, mission-driven approach to organizational management strategy.

Ray holds an MBA from London Business School, an MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and a BA in International Relations and Human Biology from Brown University. Most importantly, Ray has deep commitment to and love for the CMC community and staff, along with a strong belief in the Clinic’s mission and impact. In her free time she enjoys running, baking, and spending time with her very demanding dog.
